Shopping Card Fundraiser

We are excited to introduce a new, on-going fundraising program that will not cost you one penny.

Our Shul purchases paper certificates and plastic cards from large, well known retailers at a discount. The Shul resells the certificates and cards to you at face value and the Shul keeps the difference as a fundraiser.

Some of the participating retailers are:

MarketPlace IGA, Fairway Market, Capers, Stong’s, Killarney Market, The Bay, Zellers, Home Outfitters, Sears, Home Depot, Home Hardware, Chevron, Petro-Canada, Canadian Tire, Chapters, Future Shop, Shoppers Drug Mart, Starbucks, Staples, Sport Mart, The Gap, Old Navy, Winners, Marks Work Wearhouse, Payless SS, Linens-N-Things, Toys ‘R’ Us, Blockbuster, Cineplex Odeon and many more.

How the Program Works:

  • Print out the Shopping card order form.
  • Choose which certificates and cards you would like to purchase and in what denominations.
    Fill out the the order form.
  • Return the completed order form in an envelope with a cheque by Sunday at 5:00 pm to
    Tammy Kalvari YIRBC Progressive Fundraising Representative.
  • Pick up your order when you drop off your cheque for your next order.

How the Shul Benefits

The average family spends $6,000 - $7,000 on groceries each year. If 30 families purchase $100 per week on all household purchases from participating retailers, the Shul can earn $7,200 in a year.
(ie) $ 4,800 per family for 12 months
x 30 families
$ 144,000
5% average return per merchant
$ 7,200 Profit for the Shul

Let’s all participate by just pre-planning our regular weekly household purchases at retailers while at the same time supporting our Shul.
